How to patch your PVC roof
Membrane tears and holes are the most common problems with PVC roofs. Small punctures can be patched with a PVC roof repair kit in a few simple steps:
- Locate the area of the tear, hole or puncture
- Remove dirt and debris from the area of the repair using a bristle brush
- Scuff the area with a sanding block and clean off the debris once again
- Apply the primer from the kit onto the cleaned area and let dry
- Cut a piece of seam tape that’s a few inches longer than the hole/gap
- Peel off the paper backing on the tape, center it over the cleaned area and press onto the roof
- Use a rubber seam roller and roll in all directions starting from the center to ensure adhesion
If your PVC roof has severe damage, get an expert to assess the damage and make the necessary repairs.
