Madison Fleet Fire Radio Facility

This project is the development of a new building for Fleet/Fire/Radio Shop Facility located at Nakoosa Trail and Commercial Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin. The Fleet/Fire/Radio Shop Facility provides light, medium and heavy vehicle service and repair spaces for the City of Madison’s fleet of public safety, police, emergency vehicles, public works vehicles and equipment, fire apparatus and other service automobiles, trucks and equipment. The building is 110,000 square feet.

Strategies and Results

This was a challenging project as we had to work around all the trades onsite on a very tight timeline. Roofed Right fabricated all the standing seam panels in-house using Metal Sales premium Kynar finished 22ga steel. Being vertically integrated allowed metal panel fabrication and delivery to the project site 50% faster than using a 3rd party fabricator. Our onsite Project Manager and site engineer designed and built a custom remote system allowing us to operate our panel machine from a distance so we could deliver 135ft long panels with little to no seams. Our install team worked seamlessly with the steel erectors and solar panel installers to water tight the roof as the building was under construction.
